What is Non-Surgical Bariatric Medical Weight Loss?

Bariatric Medicine is the art and science of medical weight management. Everyone metabolizes food differently and requires an individual approach specific to their own body needs. The Bariatric approach is concerned with the nutritional content of different foods (including proteins, carbohydrates, and fats), the amount of food eaten, the time food is eaten, as well as the amount of exercise done by a person. By monitoring these factors, along with a comprehensive blood work analysis and an ekg, we can help you attain a good success rate in our Fat Loss approach to a healthier life style without having to resort to surgery.

Dr. Goodson is a certified member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians (ASBP) and a Diplomate of the American Board of Bariatric Medicine (ABBM). Becoming a Diplomate consists of an on-site peer-reviewed Patient Care Review, and an extensive written and oral board examination. The ASBP is the only national medical society that specially trains physicians to treat the disease of obesity.

What is No-Needle Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is a non-surgical procedure that reduces fat and cellulite. It is also known as Spot Fat Reduction and Lipo-Dissolve. Mesotherapy has been featured on CBS's 48 Hours and ABC's 20/20 television shows.

Mesotherapy was developed in France in 1952 by Dr. Michael Pistor. Mesotherapy works by targeting receptors of the fat cell's surface which produce lipogensis (fat production) and lipolysis (fat breakdown). Mesotherapy dissolves fat using a chemical (enzyme) that you already have in your body that dissolves the fat when you lose weight by dieting.

Mesotherapy also treats cellulite areas. It can be compared to liposuction, except that it is usually cheaper and much safer. Liposuction destroys the fat cells in the treated area; therefore, if the patient at a later time overeats and gains weight again it will go to a different area, such as your face or arms. This does not happen with mesotherapy. This is a procedure that can be done with no discomfort and you can even do the procedure on your lunch break and return to work the same day.
